Prof. Dr. CİHAN KARATAŞ- Head of Department
Was born in Ankara/Ayaş and graduated from Ankara Atatürk Lycee. Received his M.S. and B.S. degrees both from Middle East Technical Universıty, METU, Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering. Ph.D. : State University of New York at Buffalo, SUNY, Mechanical Engineering, Center for Materials Processing.
Worked as research/development engineer at Combustion Engineering, Windsor, Connecticutt and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories, Berkeley, California. Has worked at METU Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Hacettepe University Nuclear Energy Engineering, Kastamonu University Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering as an academician. He has been the Director of OSB-1 Sincan Vocational School, Hacettepe University.
Dr. Karataş as of 1-May-2018 has 72 Science Citation Index (SCI) Publications with total of 650 citations. The “h-index” for these publications is 14. This means that of the 72 documents considered for the h-index, 14 have been cited at least 14 times. He is also author of a book chapter at the book “Laser Surface Engineering Processes and Applications”, Woodhead Publishing-2016, Editor: Jonathan Lawrence.

Lecturer Matin GHAZIANI – Vice-Head of department
Matin GHAZIANI graduated from Iran Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology (KNTU), Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2006. For four years (2004-2008), he worked as a mechanical engineer at Pars Robotics Groups. He participated in several RoboCup competitions and received several awards at the RoboCup Rescue Robot League (Third-Place Award at the Autonomous Technical Challenge at the ROBOCUP Rescue robot league of ROBOCUP 2007 in Atlanta, Second-Place Award at the ROBOCUP Rescue robot league of ROBOCUP-Germany Open 2007 in Hannover, Received the Best in Class Mobility Award at the ROBOCUP Rescue robot league of ROBOCUP-Germany Open 2007 in Hannover, First-Place Award at the ROBOCUP Rescue robot league of NURC 2006 in Tehran). He received a M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (2013). He is currently a Ph.D. student of Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. Since December of 2013 he has been working as a lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering in the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association.
Since 2017, he have achieved several prizes and grants like New Ideas New Jobs (YFYI2017) Elginkan Foundation Grand Prize, Tech Ankara Project Market-2017 Award, Roboik-2019 Award, Tübitak-1512 Multiphase Entrepreneurship Grant, Tübitak- 1507 SME Research, Development & Innovation Grant and Kosgeb- R&D and Innovation Support Program Grand with Tulpar R&D team which is founded by him and his R&D group. In addition, in the international ISDB-Transformers-2018 competition held in Cambridge within the scope of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in 2018, among 4300 worldwide applications, his project was selected and granted as one of the top projects of the competition.

Assist.Prof. Dr. Reza AGHAZADEH
Dr. Reza Aghazadeh was born in Urmiye of west Azerbaijan, Iran. He earned his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (February 2008). He then received his MSc and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University, respectively in September 2013 and September 2017. His MSc and PhD research includes modeling of functionally graded micro-beams and micro-plates. In 2008, his bachelor’s thesis was chosen as the best published thesis in Iran by Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers. He has been working on various projects that require expertise on structural analysis, computational mechanics, vibration, control systems and data acquisition systems. In University of Turkish Aeronautical Association, first he started to work as a lecturer in Aeronautical Engineering Department in 2015 and since December 22, 2017, he has been continuing his academic career as an assistant professor in Mechatronics Engineering Department.
Research Interest: Mechanics of micro and nano structures, Structural Analysis, Vibration, Computational Mechanics, Control Systems
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Raziye MERT
Dr. Raziye Mert is Associate Professor at University of Turkish Aeronautical Association, Mechatronics Engineering Department. Dr. Raziye Mert graduated from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics, in 2002 with a second degree. After, she received her Ph.D. degree from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics, in 2010 under the Integrated Doctorate Program. She worked as a Research Assistant at Middle East Technical University between 2002 and 2008 and as a Lecturer at Çankaya University between 2009 and 2010. She also served as an Assistant Professor at Çankaya University between 2010 and 2015. She has been working at University of Turkish Aeronautical Association since 2015. She was awarded by 2214-International Research Fellowship Programme (for PhD Students) and 2219-International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Programme by TÜBİTAK. She was named Associate Professor in 2015.
Research Interest: Ordinary Differential Equations, Difference Equations, Dynamic Equations on Time Scales, Fractional Calculus, Oscillation and Stability Analysis
Assist.Prof.Dr. Abdellatif BABA
In the next five years, he worked as an assistant professor in several public and private universities. Since October (2013) he has been continuing his academic life in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association.
